"Technical support agents don't know what they are doing" We've mystery shopped Bluehost and it's not great news. Poor technical support and a long time to wait for a response with frequent downtime. Could this be the end of Bluehost?

Bluehost likely have the most online reviews of any of the top web hosts and have you ever noticed these reviews are all glowing reviews, telling you to sign up right away. One must wonder why this is. We think it’s because Bluehost payout $65 for each referral they receive. Bluehost pay out almost $5 million in referrals each year. None of these reviews give you the facts, they just want you to signup so they can have their $65. Not here| We’ve mystery shopped Bluehost and a load of other providers to bring you an honest review of their service.

Bluehost DowntimeBluehost Uptime

For a larger host with almost 2 million users, you would expect the perfect uptime record for Bluehost but, you’re going to be waiting a long time. frequent outages and downtime are independently reported by Pingdom. Pingdom monitors the uptime of all the major players and Bluehost isn’t doing that well. Almost everyday outages are reported according to their statistics. Only in May as Bluehost managed complete uptime which is rather shocking for a large host and why they didn’t score better when writing this review.

Bluehost Shared Hosting

We signed up for a basic shared hosting account, signup was easy and we found everything relatively easily. The problem came when we asked for support. We waiting for 4 days! 4 DAYS! for an answer to our ticket and when we didn’t get an answer it didn’t help us one bit. Using the live chat system you will wait at least twenty minutes and if the problem is complex then you will just be migrated to a ticket for further diagnostics. If you value support don’t be signing up with Bluehost.
